Yakiniku in Roppongi

Yakiniku

Met up with a friend for dinner last night. He brought me to a famous yakiniku place in Roppongi. I believe the name was とうがらし (tougarashi), which is the Japanese word for red pepper. One of the things you’ll notice straightaway when you are seated is the lack of sauces on the table. It’s the store’s policy not to provide sauces for the meat. According to the boss, once you sauced everything, it all tastes the same. They serve good beef here and want you to appreciate the taste of the meat. The fat and oil that drip from it… ummmm.. So believe me when I say you don’t need sauces to go with the meat. ^^. There’s also something else about this place too.

Roppongi at night 2

Managed to catch Terminator:Salvation at Roppongi Hills. The movie was ok. Wasn’t particularly impressed. Am still overwhelmed from Star Trek. ^^. That being said, there’s a link between the two movies. Know what it is?

Hello Kitty x Hard Rock Cafe

Saw this poster at the subway in Roppongi. Seems to be a limited edition kinda thing. Don’t know how long it’ll last. Must admit, I like the purple.

15 minutes to Shibuya

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

That’s how long it takes to get from Roppongi to Shibuya by bus. Bus stop in front of Aoyama bookstore next to Azabu police station. Don’t forget the ¥200 bus fare too!

Tokyo Tower

Can you tell what’s in this picture? Care to take a guess? No prizes. Just personal satisfaction and a cookie. ^^. Don’t think you need any clues, so I won’t give any. I suddenly had a thought today. Don’t remember what I was thinking about, but it probably had something to do with work, which has been piling up lately.

“Sometimes things need to be a little out of focus”

At times I tend to wander off, while the conscious me stares into space. Then, everything is out of focus.

Sunset Over Tokyo

x 023

I’ve been a little preoccupied with my new baby lately… iphone la ^^. Most of the jailbroken apps have not made their way to the app store yet. When are they coming?!? Anyway, in my previous post, I was trying out the ‘Mail-to-Blogger’ function. I can send an email to a specified address and it automatically gets published here. Pretty convenient if I suddenly feel an urge to blog sometime I see when I’m on the go ^^. Here are some photos I took of the sunset from the sky deck in Roppongi Hills. These were taken at the same time I took the Tokyo Tower pics.

I gave this poll quite a while back at an earlier post about sunrises. Nothing spectacular in that post, just some photos I took around my neighbourhood when the sun was getting up.

Indiana Jones and the G8 Summit

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

With the recent G8 summit going on in Hokkaido, security all over Japan is on heightened alert. Don’t know why they needed extra patrols in Roppongi though… Hokkaido is like… so far away. I went to Roppongi today to catch Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Cool movie though. I didn’t know Indy survived the Trinity Test and also had something to do with the incident at Roswell (if there was anything at all ^^). The previous movies dealt more with the supernatural. Did you spot the Ark of the Covenant when he was trying to escape from Area 51 ^^. The first time I saw that warehouse, I thought, “hey! That’s just like the one they should right at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark!”. Don’t want to give too many spoilers here, but this movie is a little on the science fiction side. It uses the same legend as National Treasure 2 though, if you’ve seen it. Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, you should make an effort to. This is probably the final Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford… hmm… Maybe not. He could be back as daddy, just like Sean Connery in the Last Crusade ^^.

Police patrolling Roppongi Hills. The weather was pretty hot today. With all the uniform on, I wonder if they turn stinky at the end of the day ><.

Japan is big on recycling. This is how you usually get rid of your trash. You separate it into “combustibles”, “non-combustibles” and “Plastic PET bottles”.

I think they should hire this guy for security. Look at him. Would you take him on ^^?

Those are some really big toes!
