Lego Digital Camera

Would you like to build your own 3MP digital camera with Lego?

Forgot the price, but from analyzing the photo taken on my iPhone, I think it is ¥8925. You can pick it up from your nearby hobby/lifestyle department store Loft. ^^.

If you’re living overseas and want it real bad, try asking my friends over at Rinkya.

gr and i

I was undecided at first, between the Canon G11 and this Ricoh GR Digital III.

Both are excellent cameras, but when I asked myself,

“Which camera would I have more fun with?”

It’s pretty ingenious if you ask me. If Ricoh releases other camera units in addition to the current 2 they have, the GXR can be a very versatile camera. Remember, camera units can have other functions besides capturing images through glass. A projector unit can be used to project images!

Japanese Inventions

Whenever I get on the Shinkansen, one of the first few things I do right after getting into my seat is to browse their “in-ride” shopping catalogue. It’s always a thrill finding new and novel goods and gadgets.

Seiza (正座, literally “proper sitting”) is the Japanese term for the traditional formal way of sitting in Japan. It’s not easy to be in seiza. You could feel differently, but I don’t find it particularly comfortable. If in seiza for too long, I end up with pins and needles when I get up. If you find yourself needing to be in seiza for long periods at a time, this could be your next best friend. ^^.

Toyota Prius

Had a chance to drive Toyota’s Prius recently when Nippon Rent-a-Car didn’t have what I wanted. So I though, meh, why not give the “eco car” section a try. There were only 2 cars, Honda Insight and Toyota Prius. Being a frequent customer of Nippon Rent-a-Car, I had in my possession, a ¥4000 discount voucher.

What the heck, I’ll just go with the slightly more expensive Prius.
