White Day

ChocoRocks

Here in Japan we practice "White Day".

White Day is an annual event held a month after Valentine’s Day on March 14th.

On Valentine’s Day in Japan, girls give boys chocolates. There’s no exchange of presents. The male of the species gets to take time off hunting and enjoy deliciously expensive chocolate hand-picked by their female counterparts.

Good things never last.

March 14th is payback time.

Have you prepared anything for your girlfriends? ^^.

Taisyoken 001

It’s been too long since I last wrote a post about ramen. Doesn’t mean I haven’t had any though.

Met a good buddy of mine over the weekend and decided to try out the new Taisyouken (大勝軒) shop near Keio University.

100 Plus

Love this isotonic drink. I drank my fill when I was in Malaysia for the lunar new year.

Drink 100 plus and all your grades will be 100 plus! ^^.

A pity they don’t sell this in Japan…

Took this photo with my Ricoh GR Digital III. Been shooting alot of black and white photos ever since this camera fell into my hands. ^^.

Chinese sausages

Chinese Sausages

Didn’t consume enough chinese sausages for lunar new year this time around. We usually eat at a family friend’s restaurant, but he has retired since then. And so my consumption this year slumped to just 1 dish.

The term “chinese sausage” is pretty generic. These sausages come in all shapes and sizes – even taste and names! Some are made with pork, others with duck liver and even some with chicken, beef, turkey, mutton and fish!

With the high fat content, these sausages usually don’t do wonders for your health. But the good things in life usually don’t. ^^.

Can you name every chinese sausage in this photo?

If you’re interested in the price, here’s a link to a large image.

デカ盛り

This post is going to be about food. Lots of food. Really. Lots of food. I was watching tv asahi’s Onegai! Ranking (お願い!ランキング) the other day when they were featuring “super-size” (デカ盛り, deka mori) meals. The 3 restaurants they ranked are in Saitama. So if you do live nearby, please give it a try and tell me how it went.

Oh. The picture above, that’s a mega 4kilos worth of solid yakisoba goodness. Think you can handle ¥5000 worth of yakisoba? ^^. Finish it within 20 minutes and you get a ¥10,000 cash prize. Girls get an additional 5 minutes.
