Sakura a little late
Sakura was around much longer during spring this year. Spring this year was warm, then cool, then warm again and yesterday, it was cold as winter! It even snowed in some parts of Tokyo.
I saw sakura, I walked past sakura.
One doesn’t have to go far to enjoy sakura in Tokyo. Sure, you can definitely head to the famous places for sakura viewing and the experience will be exhilarating. I know. I’ve been there. ^^.
Recent years I usually find myself a nice quiet park and spend some time there. Usually a local park. There are always a few near certain train stations and I find it more enjoyable viewing sakura with families who picnic there rather than scores of people at the more well known places.
But, it really doesn’t matter where you go as long as you’re in good company.
Ain’t that right.
Took this photo on a pretty cool night just shy of 10pm.
On the way home from dinner, I decided to just do some light reading in the park. ^^.
Isn’t is just nice having a park with sakura right at your doorstep?
These photos were taken on a different day when I went to Naka-meguro. Seeing sakura petals flutter around as the trains ran by was amazing.
Naka-meguro is a famous sakura viewing spot.
Lots of couples come here to take a stroll along the river.
Lots of sakura petals on the pavement.
I was late. When in full bloom, it’s just pink everywhere.
Watching sakura petals flow downstream is also something to enjoy too.
It’s officially spring.
