Shinkansen passing by

Shinkansen

I was asked very politely if I could take some group photos with my camera, so I ended up bring my Nikon to work today. ^^.

In between breaks, I managed to snap some shots of a shinkansen passing by my window. Just realized today, shinkansen’s are that long! Here’s a link to a larger image.

What’s the longest time you’ve spent on a shinkansen?

Wow, nice picture! I really love the color of the sky. Was that close to sunset?

You know, I’ve never actually seen a skinkansen passing by. I spent a lot of time in an area of Kyoto where you couldn’t see train tracks. I was fortunate enough to ride twice on a shinkansen. It’s kind of a surreal feeling. You get used to the speed at which things are blurring by you and it has this feeling of being inside an airplane, but at the same time, not being in a plane. Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t get wifi on the train, so both times were quite boring after the first ten minutes.

I think the longest is about four and a half hours going from Tokyo Shinagawa to Hiroshima. I believe we switched trains at Shin Osaka.

Made the Hakata – Tokyo thing, but can’t remember how long it take (was not that long though). I miss so much seeing this train speeding its way in the sunset.

Nice view you got at work. I have never been on a Shinkansen but hope to do so in our next trip. Compared to the Canada Line in Vancouver, the Shinkansen is gigantic.
