Decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood after dinner. I find night walks rather refreshing, even in winter when the it’s blistering cold outside. ^^. Just have to put on a few layers.

It’s almost christmas and I wanted to see what decorations the neighbors have put up.

Lots of pretty lights including Frosty the snowman.

Do you decorate for christmas? I only have a tiny tree indoors and a christmas wreath on the front door. ^^.

Nothing too extravagant. Just something simple.

Most of the decoration lights use blue LEDs.

I suppose it’s more energy efficient than using a regular LED. ^^.

As I was taking a stroll around the neighborhood, I noticed a number of cars driving in and doing some rounds enjoying the pretty lights. Not so sure about other Japanese neighborhoods though, but this particular one is well-known for lighting up during christmas. It does get a quite a few visitors. ^^.

This particular Santa always brings out a smile. He has appeared like clockwork for 3 consecutive years now.

One would have thought that people understand it is wrong to stick something up Santa’s behind. ^^.

Great photos – nice to see so many decorations. The blue LEDs give the streets a frosty, Arctic look. Not as pretty as the old incandescent lights, but better for polar bears!

Those Christmas decorations look very nice. That is interesting to see in Japan. I love how the blue lights shine off the homes. Even better would be if there was a little snow on the ground.

You’re so right! Too bad it only snows in Tokyo for a day in February.

I thought Christmas wasn’t celebrated enough in Japan for the locals to hang up decorations but, looks like it’s not so in your area.
