Hijacked this photo from weather.yahoo.co.jp. It shows the path of Typhoon 18号. Namely the 18th typhoon that Japan has encountered this year. It’s been named Melor. I always thought natural disasters were always given female names. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”, right? Found it interested that it was given a boy’s name this time around.

What’s alarming about Melor is that it will make landfall in Tokyo tomorrow. According to the experts, it’ll be in Tokyo for most of the day. The last time a typhoon hit land was 2 years ago in 2007. That flooded a few metro stations in Tokyo…

Hopefully it is not going to cause any damage or major inconvenience for you. At a time like this, the best thing is get to a Ramen store and start eating ramen!

Well, a typhoon/hurricane is no joke, so do stay safe and indoors as well. Hope most of Japan will not be hit hard.

It’s supposedly as big or bigger than Katrina right? That’s what one of my classmates told me… I stocked up on instant ramen XD

I haven’t encountered a typhoon before, heard stories about people falling and getting injured in the crazy rain/wind tho! Hopefully it won’t hit tokyo too hard by the time it arrives ^^;

Hi, I am named Melor. Yes, my real name is Melor. I am a female. In Malay language Melor means Jasmine flower. hahaha. I dont know why they named the typhoon Melor
