Reiko Kiuchi
Met illustrator Reiko Kiuchi two nights ago. Was on a secret mission with the Tokyo Stormtrooper in Omotesando when she pointed him out! It’s always an adventure when you’re on secret missions with him. ^^.
She graduated from Musashino Art University in Tokyo and recently from the Royal College of Art in London too. Very talented artist. I like the combination of colors and lines in her illustrations.
When she offered me a souvenir, I hesitated at first. But since I would love to have one of those illustrations at home, I happily accepted.
I got this particular postcard about British food recipes. It’s really nice isn’t it! Will probably frame it up and hang it on one of my walls; they could use a little color. ^^.
She works between Tokyo and London, and is currently displaying her illustrations, manga, London guide books at Gallery Kowa in Omotesando Hills. Will be there until the 14th October. Drop in to say hi when you have time or around the neighborhood.
I find her manga guidebooks about London rather interesting. Only in Japanese though. 「LOVEロンドン！お買いもの旅」 guides you through shopping in London. Haven’t been to London myself, but hope to find my way there one day. I’ve got friends there waiting for me to visit!… or at least I think they are waiting for me to visit. ^^.
