Ricoh CX2

You know, I bought myself a Ricoh R8 back in mid 2008. A few months later, it was updated to the R10. Another few months later, Ricoh took the wraps off their latest CX1 in March 2009. Fast forward to today, a mere 6 months later, we have the brand new CX2! It would seem that Ricoh R&D engineers are working super overtime on this particular series of compact cameras.

In addition to most CX1 features, the CX2 has a larger zoom range, 28-300mm(!!), 5fps continuous shooting and additional scene modes (which don’t really interest me).

I went with the R8 because in addition to its capabilities, it had a clean design. Something the Ricoh design engineers have kept true to in their iterations of the series.

Anyone in the market for a compact camera?

I’d definitely like to get a really compact camera… Even my current point-and-shoot is a pain to lug around Tokyo :(

I can’t believe they don’t sell Ricoh cameras here in Canada. They only sell Ricoh copiers and large scanners for offices.
