Was spending some quality ramen time with my good friend Tomo last weekend in 家系 (iekei) mecca. He brought me to his favorite ramen in Yokohama. He told me the last time he visited for a bowl, he was still enrolled in Keio… quite a number of years back.

Keio University Hub

Waiting for a drink

The Hub, a chain of British pubs in Japan, on Hiyoshi campus at Keio University. Very convenient for those times when you just need to down a Guinness, watch some sports and unwind away after spending hours in front of the computer… or if you’re even more hands-on, an experimental setup. The legal drinking age in Japan is 20. If you’re not yet 20, there’s always red bull. ^^.

Hub is not exactly the Roundhouse at my other Alma Mater, the University of New South Wales in Sydney, but it’s a good start!

Protect your onigiri

Own the very best in food protection. Sometimes what every onigiri (Japanese rice ball…. I don’t know why it’s called a rice ball when it’s clearly triangular) needs is just a little care and hard-shelled-shock-resistant protection. ^^.

Reminds me of this old banana protection post.

If you’ve been to Tokyo, chances are you’ve been here. If not, this is a place you would like to visit.

While looking though my photo library from years gone by, I chanced upon this photo. Taken sometime between my first and second year in Japan. I got the powerbook before I came to Japan. Prior to Japan, I was quite the PC expert. I jumped ship because I wanted to try something new.

New country, new experiences, new personal computer.
