Oxygen and Socks

August 3rd, 2009

Oxygen

Went looking for some hiking gear today at mont bell. Planning to climb Fuji san sometime in the very near future. ^^. I took a look at oxygen products. Figured I’ll probably just carry a can. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. But I just didn’t realize that it came in 3 different forms; solid, gaseous and liquid.

Oxygen Tablets

Oxygen tablets. Pretty neat eh. Apparently, this is something like a supplement you take a few days before your climb to get your body used to places with thin air. It costs ¥840. The can was exactly ¥168 cheaper.

I took the can.

Socks

Can’t go hiking without a good pair of socks. There’s one for every occasion. Hiking, trekking, walking and travel. I’ll go with hiking for now. ^^.

Man that is cool. Mountain climbing though will suck if it is your first time at it, from what I hear. Still it is quite the experience, and the main problem is getting used to the low oxygen levels. Take pics and I will await your experience post on it. ;)

yeah. the only reason i bought a can was just in case i get affected by the low oxygen levels. heard that oxygen is sold at the summit for exorbitant prices. ^^.
