Went to the Thai festival in Yoyogi today. Man, was it crowded! It’s over this weekend so you still have Sunday tomorrow if you missed it today. As with all festivals in Japan, a festival is not a festival without the yakisoba and okonomiyaki stalls.
Tuk Tuk’s are available if you have ¥1,200,000 handy. Not sure if it’s roadworthy in Tokyo though.
A long queue for Singha beer.
Bought some supplies. Only thing noteworthy is the box of mangoes I bought and shipped back home. Expecting kuroneko to deliver it tomorrow morning. It’s extremely convenient. At most of these festivals, there’s always a courier present. So if you end up buying boxes and boxes of supplies, you can ship them back home and continue shopping for more. ^^. The only thing you can’t beat is the queue to buy the supplies.
Thai drinks. I like Longan juice.
Lots of fruits on sale too. The king was also present. Most Japanese can’t really handle being around the durian, but I was surprised to see quite a number enjoying its thick yellow flesh today. Many might find it pungent, but it smells nice to me. I didn’t always liked durian. It was an acquired taste for me. Give it some time and a few chances. It might just grow on you too.
Bumped into Sam (tkyosam), Kevin (tokyocooney), Gen, Lex and one other guy too. Was pretty surprised to see them at a Thai festival. Hope they got their tom yum going. ^^
Lucky boy. ^^.
Lots of food! Glorious food.
I ended up with this. Yummy.
Lots of people came prepared with picnic mats. Probably there since the wee hours of the morning. ^^.
I suppose we’ll see more of that this whole year. ^^.
Yummy. Meat on a stick. Resistance was futile.
It was really really crowded! Was a challenge navigating through the crowd carrying a bowl of tom yum kung!
Well, looking forward to having some nice mangoes tomorrow morning.

Wow. I was about to go today but I think I’ll go tomorrow. I didnt expect it to be so crowded though. It looks like a mission just to get around.

Went to the one last year, so probably won’t go for this one. (besides, Thailand’s too close to Malaysia, so not that big a deal for me) I’ll just check out whatever that’s there at Yoyogi next week. Yay.

I love mangoes ^^
Lucky they are so convenient in Australia. And Aus is really multicultural so it’s easy to get my hands on everything you mentioned. It’s actually harder to get some yummy Jap food, especially okonomiyaki.

I was there for doing part-time job. the festival was so crowded. My stall had long queue all two days. good festival and real paradise for thai food lover. Thai food is delicious and exotic for many people. another reason why there were so many people and long queues over there was food price. many restaurants sold their speciality at special prices, many items must be a little bit expensive at their own places.
My job was exhausting but I got paid with money and a lot of spicy roasted duck, red pork, black pork, Thai spicy duck noodle and much much more. Yummy job!

I think I’ll go to Bangkok Kitchen soon…. ^^. You got me hungry for some Thai noodles. Particularly the one with dark colored soup!
