Japanese beer in 4 sizes

Japanese Beer 1

Japanese beer these days come in 4 different sizes. Mini, small, regular, super size. I couldn’t find the regular sized Kirin beer, so I used a regular Kirin Lager Beer can instead. I’m sure the former exists. Just not today. ^^.

Mini starts at ¥105. Hey! ¥105 beer! A hundred (and five) yen beer. They should advertise this a little more. Maybe position it as a mini guilty pleasure.

Small’s usually around ¥185. Regular is about ¥230, ¥240. Super size is more often than not in excess of ¥300.

While others like Suntory, Kirin, Asahi, my favourite Japanese beer is Yebisu. Yebisu All Malt (gold), Yebisu The Hop (green), Silk Yebisu (white), Yebisu: The Black. Among the four, I reach for The Black more often. ^^. But if I’m feeling generous, I’ll just pick the next one on the right. You like Guinness too? ^^.

People who buy the smallest size don’t qualify as beer drinkers!

When I was in Japan 2 weeks back I saw a 1 Litre can of Asahi in a vending machine. That thing was a tank.

Ah, they all look delicious to me. Here in Estonia I’ve only tasted Asahi and Sapporo. And even these two can’t be bought from any store – I’ve seen them only in one sushi restaurant.
