5 nights ago today

I had dinner with a good buddy in a ramen parlor somewhere in uptown Tokyo. Ramen was yummy. First time having negi toppings on my ramen. Don’t you just like how れんげ (soup spoon) hangs on the side of the bowl. Wonder if the guy who designed it is making big bucks.

White shredded negi (shiraga-negi) is the best with pork-based broth!

This type of spoon is called kirikaki-tsuki renge (切り欠きつきレンゲ) and I have no idea who invented it. Nothing is more depressing than finding your renge soaked in ramen broth.
