Recently had a chance to catch up with some old friends. We were having a little get together to commemorate our late Professor who passed away late last year. It was also the 15th year anniversary of our research lab. 15th and last. Well… Anyway, most of us headed to a 二次会, Nijikai, which literally means second party.

Hachiko Crossing

Easily the world’s most famous crossing. Pretty nice picture given that it was taken on an iPhone don’t you think? It was a Thursday night before 春分の日 and I met up with Ken and Adam from Genkii and Chris for a mini drinking session at Shibuya. There’s more to Shibuya than Hachiko and the dodgy area. ^^.

Valentine’s Day and White Day in Japan

Valentine's Day Chocolate

Valentine’s Day in Japan is when we guys get gifts! Woo hoo! White day, a month later on March 14th, is when we have to reciprocate with, usually more expensive gifts. That’s the price of making her wait a month. ^^. Sanbai Gaeshi (三倍返し) is the idea. A return of 3x the valentine’s day gift. Extremely good ROI for her in my opinion! ^^. These are some of the chocolates I received this year. Yummy looking aren’t they.
