Shibuya #3 Valentine’s Day

Shibuya 1402 003

Well, it was Valentine’s Day yesterday. With temperatures just below 20 degrees Celsius, it was a rather warm one in Tokyo this year. The common practice for Valentine’s Day in Japan is for girls to give guys chocolate. Not the other way around… and no exchanging of gifts. Guys can be anyone, colleagues, bosses, friends etc. Although I suspect that the special guy does get premium chocolate instead of the usual brand. ^^.

A video camera lying around. In other parts of the world, this would be gone in a flash! Why can’t everyone be as honest as the people in Japan?

Crossing the Hachiko junction. Here, pedestrians are king.

Buggy on the road.

I wonder how fast it can go.

On my way to the Apple Store.

Shibuya 1402 007

I spent my Valentine’s visiting the Apple Store in Shibuya and basically roaming around afterwards. Had a date with a Genius. ^^. A tip if you plan on sitting by the Genius bar, book ahead online.

What’s a valentine’s day post without some photos of couples walking hand in hand. ^^.

How many do you spot in this photo?

Shibuya 1402 010

That’s one cool bike. Anyone know if it’s easy riding one of these? Stiff shoulders a problem?

Shibuya 1402 013

I didn’t know caps came in XL sizes. ^^.

Shibuya 1402 011

I was a little tired so I parked myself in a corner and took photos of people crossing the junction.

It must be difficult navigating a bicycle through the crowd.

I am guilty of this myself. Having a soft spot for kids, I tend to greet kids on the street with funny faces. ^^. Really brightens my day when they smile back. ^^.

Ninjas still roam the streets in Japan. They don’t necessarily wear black though.

He looked really tired. Just a quick question. Are you happy in the morning when you leave home for school/work? What about at the end of the day when you head home?

Shibuya 1402 028

I’m always happy in the morning. Somehow I just feel a sense of joy that we have a new day to spend on youtube. ^^. I’m a happy person in the morning. On the way home, I’m usually just content. Content that I didn’t spend too much time on Twitter during work hours, and looking forward to some me time pursuing other interests. ^^.

Run Lola Run!

Shibuya 1402 027

Just more photos of pedestrians crossing. I thought the sun added some flair to the photos. You?

I’m quite happy to say that I wasn’t forgotten this Valentine’s Day. ^^. I did receive some chocolates myself too! So, on Valentine’s Day, guys receive chocolates from girls. What do I do if I want to give a girl a gift?

Wait a month till White Day. 14th of March is when guys reciprocate. “Tick tock”. The clock is ticking. Planned your White Day gift yet? ^^.

Lovely pictures. The couple dressed in black looks beautiful for Valentine, but the price for the best picture is the XL cap :D

Shooting into the sun isn’t usually a good idea but it worked out well here, because you trapped the sun between the two buildings and reduced the amount of glare.

I like making faces at small children but sometimes they cry!
