Picking this up today from yodobashi. What better way to practice Japanese in the comfort of my own home than to practice singing in Japanese. ^^. Over 30,000 songs online with 1000 added every month. Bye bye to horrible singing!
Many other unique game controllers. Anyone play guitar hero?
Check out the 70 free songs that come with the disc.
New songs and old favorites. Even for the kids too! I was surprised to see Jero’s song in the list too! In case you don’t know who he is, he’s the first black (and probably gaijin) enka singer in Japan.
Check out his MTV. Enka and hip hop. What do you think? It’s a cover of an old song btw. I just might pick up the mike with this song in karaoke soon. ^^.
Another one of my all time anime opening favorites. TOUCH! You know about it?
虹 (Niji) was the opening song in the recent second season of Gokusen.
When you get bored with the 70 free songs that come in the disc. You can access over 30,000 songs online with 1000 added every month by buying “tickets”. Needless to say, your wii needs to be connected to the internet. The Airport Express is pretty useful for that. ^^. 1 Wii point costs 1 yen. Think it’s still cheaper than going to the karaoke box though. Will have to check out what songs they have online soonish.
Some details on the box. Karaoke in your living room! Change the key, tempo and echo with the wii remote. Use the wii remote as a tambourine etc. Score your singing. Check how you fare on the national level. Get another USB mike and sing duets! (mike plugs into the usb ports on the back of the wii. The mike comes with a very very very long wire).
There’s also a party mode and a lesson mode. Think I might need a couple of lessons myself. ^^.
What songs do you always sing in karaoke?

Wii games are region coded, but you can install the Homebrew Channel, which has a “region free-er” for Wii. This karaoke for Wii seems fun!
I love to sing It’s only love (福山雅治), Tomorrow Never Knows (Mr. Children), LOVE YOU ONLY (TOKIO), and many others at the karaoke…

Hey Ken, did a search for wii Karaoke in Japan and ended up here ! Nice work. Seeing as SingStar isn’t available and the full blown Karaoke machines are priced at a ridiculous figure in Yodobashi it looks like this might be the go.
How’s it working out for you? Are there plenty of songs available like what’s sung in the usual Karaoke books?
