OYKOT is what happens when art, advertising and business collide.
Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo is not ‘just a typical ad agency’. It is full of curiosity and constantly seeks to find a better way. A new way. Ten years of embracing the fusion of culture and commerce has allowed for the OYKOT perspective to emerge. Sometimes the answer comes from a voice within, other times it’s the spark from an outside collaborator. It’s okay to not always have the answer. Sometimes it takes digging. That’s when some of the most surprising work comes.
W+K Tokyo is in a unique position of experiencing Tokyo from the outside and observing Tokyo from the inside. Its distinct background has helped breed a hybrid approach to the creative process, continuously challenging the traditional notions of advertising. A message can be delivered through an exciting new track by a DJ, a downloadable port cutlet, or by flying people with balloons.
OYKOT takes an active choice to engage and define what Tokyo means right now. We invite you to take a look at the people, the process, and the groove that go into making the work. How we see Tokyo. How we see the world.
W+K were behind the Google Dekiru promotion a while back. That was when I flew. They will be at the GGG (Ginza Graphic Gallery) from tomorrow (2nd December) till Christmas Eve. There’s even an opening party tomorrow evening. If you’re in Japan and happen to drop by, I’ll see you there. ^^.
