Laundry Out My Window
Looking out my window on a clear blue day, I see…. laundry!
When the day is short and sunlight is scarce in winter, every clear blue sky must be taken advantage of. Laundry-wise.
Lots of mansions where I live. If you don’t have the luxury of a roof balcony, laundry gets hung at the narrow veranda. Clothes, futon etc. everything comes out. Hangers are used alot here. Every t-shirt has its own hanger and is hung on a laundry pole. Do you hang laundry the same way or do you prefer a line and directly hang your laundry over the line?
Futon’s (mattress hanging off the rail) aren’t washed though. They are brought out for some sun and “beaten” with a futon stick to get rid of mites that one might share the night with. ^^. A pretty good practice I might say. You can get huge clips that hold on to the futon when it’s hung on the rail from the local ¥100 store. Have you ever slept in a futon?
Would be disastrous if a strong gust of wind blew the futons away. Not good indeed for the people below.
I also see solar panels though. Anyone with solar panel experience?
(Thanks to Shane at the Nihon Sun for the “Looking out my window” idea!)
