Hot Tsukemen

Tags:

Tsukemen (つけ麺) has become a rather popular “alternative” to the usual ramen. The noodles and soup are served separately. You dip the noodles into the soup and then into your mouth. スープをつけて食べる。At least that’s the idea.

Went to the local tsukemen stall for dinner. Saw something new on their menu. “Spicy hot tsukemen”. I’ll have just that. I love spicy food. In Japan, honestly, spicy is never spicy enough. Hence, my decision to gamble my empty stomach on a bowl of “spicy hot tsukemen!

I’ve met my match tonight. I know, because I had to remove a tablespoon of chilli powder from the soup! It was seriously flaming hot!

I definitely cannot stomach food that is too spicy. I like it a little spicy, but too much and meh.
