Weekly Photos from my iPhone 2
Do you have problems with a dirty keyboard? A friend of mine cleaned his keyboard… including every single key! I like to keep my keyboard clean. Usually air duster it from time to time or wipe over it with an antiseptic cloth. I reckon we should all maintain a certain level of hygiene for our keyboards; it’s where our fingers spend most of their time everyday. At least that’s how it is like for me. Do you keep your keyboards clean?
This is one of my favourite meats. Not the one below, but the one above. I wrote about Manhattan Clam Chowder instant noodles earlier. I was surprised to learn from one of readers, newyorkdude, that Manhattan clam chowder is actually tomota-based. Anyway, I’m more familiar with New England Clam Chowder as I’ve had it on every occasion I went to Boston.
This was for lunch sometime last week.
Again with the finishing oil.
I don’t know if many people notice this, but if you buy a cup noodle, it doesn’t come with seasoning sachets inside. But if you buy instant noodles in a bowl, it usually comes with seasoning sachets left inside.
yum yum.
I was away for the weekend. Went away to Okinawa for work. I had a presentation to give at a conference. That went well. I did squeeze in some leisure time and took quite a considerable amount of photos. You’ll probably get to see most of them in later posts this week. Nope. I did not take a bus from Tokyo to Okinawa. ^^.
I did, however, take a bus to the conference venue. There was a matsuri (festival) going on along the way. I managed to snap some kids in matsuri wear on my way there.
Shiikuwasha (Okinawan lime). I love citrus drinks. This was very good.
I noticed that there were alot of these gargle thingamajigs in Okinawa. It shoots out water laced with some kind of toothpaste-tasting something. I don’t know what to call it, but it tasted of toothpaste. A good way to keep your mouth clean.
I also managed to sleep 3 hours on a certain day so that I could catch the sunrise. It was beautiful. More photos coming up later this week. This post is, after all, “photos from my iPhone”.
Just wondering, do you know how to use this? Which direction to squat? I reckon most occidentals have problems using one of these? I just avoid it all together… unless it’s any emergency and no other toilets on other floors are available. Call me weird, but I prefer to search for other more comfortable ways to …. namely, sit on a white throne and pass judgment. ^^.
The westernmost train station in Japan. Naha Airport station. Naha’s the name of the airport in Okinawa.
In Okinawa, sanpinncha (jasmine tea) is more popular than green tea.
A&W merchandise.
It has been a while since I’ve had the infamous root beer. My fellow travelers have never heard of A&W. I found it quite amusing to tell them it stood for “Air and Water”. ^^. Do you know what it really stands for? For those unacquainted with root beer, it is not an alcoholic drink.
Hey! I wanted combo D!
Took this at Haneda Airport when I arrived back in Tokyo. Tokyo limited Kit Kats. The one on top is made from soybean flour. And the one below, soy sauce flavoured. Interesting souvenirs for family and friends back home if you’re visiting Tokyo. Oh. I did not take a pic, but the limited edition Kit Kats in Okinawa were mango flavoured.
My first lunch back in Tokyo. KFC. Reservations for christmas chicken has already started in KFC.
This was new on the menu. A new “happy price” ¥980 pack. Only Japanese chickens (国内座) were harmed in the process of bringing this to a KFC near you.
Boneless chicken patties. Great for a quick snack if you’re on the run.
Yuzu (Japanese lime) chicken was rather expensive at ¥260 a piece, but pretty good.
You like KFC?
