My First Experience with Rap

November 21st, 2008

I thought I’ll just take a break from all the “travel posts” and blog about something different tonight… actually, this morning. I’ll have to leave soon because I have to catch an early flight to Kyushu. It’s been a little crazy this month. By the end of November, I would have been to Haneda Airport 6 times! Maybe not as much as some people, but still alot of me. ^^.

So… something different. Let’s talk about my first experience with rap.

2 songs in particular. Really really old 2 songs. Care to take a guess?

Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby”.

and MC Hammer’s “U can’t touch this”.

I was in elementary/primary school when I first heard these 2 songs. Real classics. It’s a wonder youTube has it in this day and age. Back then, the internet probably only existed in research laboratories. I wonder what happened to the 2 of them though…

What about you? When was your first contact with rap?

It’s been a long, long time since I saw MC Hammer doing his “crab dance”…. it’s still as funny today as it was then.
