Mitsuki Hayase
I know… A figure post is long overdue. I’ve received this gift from a friend who’s leaving Japan. Of course I’ve got something for him too. But I’m going to wait until the farewell party to pass it to him. He’s probably reading this so I better not divulge more. ^^. Anyway, I really do like this figure. So thanks.
This figure is from GoodSmile Company. The box has a spelling error, but it’s sculpted by Chigusa Ryo (Kai). I don’t know. Kai’s probably his alias. I must say he did a pretty good. It’s a really nice figure.
This character’s name is Mitsuki Hayase (水月速瀬). Well, although you’ll probably see it written as 速瀬水月 in Japanese. I don’t really know much about her, I was rather attracted to the figure. ^^. What about you? Do you only buy figures you know about or does it include figures that caught your eye? After a session of googling and wiki-ing, found out that she’s a game character from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 君が望む永遠 (the eternity you desire). It seems to be quite a popular game because there was a 14 episode anime series adapted from the game. Even the game has a Vista-optimized version that was released on March 28 2008. Got most of this info from wikipedia. Beats me what “Vista-optimized” means. Anyone played this game before?
She kinda looks good on tatami too.
Update: I’ve got more photos over at flickr. Only left my favorites here ^^.

The hell, you got her before I did! I have been wanting this figure despite not having seen the series yet. She really is nice and her darker shade of blue hair now complements her better than the sample’s did.

as for your question, i usually buy figures of characters i know and love. sometimes i will buy those that i don’t know of only if it is very very appealing.

@panther, when is she getting into your pants… errh hands ^^
@lu-k, it is a really nice figure. it’s a good thing it’s not castoff-able. for mitsuki, having it not castoff-able adds to her appeal. ^^
@gordon, yeah… a beach shoot would be perfect wouldn’t it. no beach near where i am. gotta find time to get out of town. ^^.

I definitely feel a figure purchase is more meaningful when I at least know the character, but I am guilty of getting figures based by gut feel on quality for the price..
In this case, I’m more of a Suzumiya Haruka fan but GSC’s Haruka is out of character to me, considering the tone of the story. That said, GSC did a much better job with Mitsuki, going by pictures alone.
