2 hours of lecture

It's mandatory in Japan for people renewing their driver’s license for the first time. The second time, I think it's a one hour lecture. After that, it becomes a 30min procedure. Do you have to go through lectures like this where you are?

update: Lecture’s over and I’m home early. phew. There are 3 different grades for driving licenses (excluding a learner’s license). Green (first timers), blue (regulars) and gold (regulars with no traffic violations). Transition from green to blue is 3 years. I guess that’s quite the usual standard everywhere. It requires a slightly longer time in Sydney Australia with many computer-based MCQs if my memory serves. So the second time you renew, which is 3 years later, if you have no violations, you’ll get hot gold. If not, you’re stuck with cool blue. In Japan, there are lots of people with gold licenses. But… there’s always a but. Not everyone of them have been driving for those 6 years without violating any traffic rules. Granted they didn’t break any traffic rules, but the reason behind not breaking any rules is simply because they have not been driving! There’s a special term in Japan for these drivers, “Paper drivers”. I think “paper drivers” mainly exist in major cities, e.g. Tokyo, where public transportation is so convenient. Me, I love driving. So I jump at every opportunity to drive. ^^

Oh heck no…and I thought Canada, BC’s licensing program sucked compared to the rest of the countries (Between Learners and Full is 3 years).

Lol we have classes to take here for our licenses. Upon completion of our license though we have a year’s probation, accumulating no more than 12 demerit points before our license can be revoked. After that you are a “full” driver, but the lessons and the amount of money you spent by then is lol.

Worse for bike classes by the way, you do not want to know how those work.

    And I hate driving.
