I’ve been reading alot about iPhone 3Gs being cracked lately. But I was surprised to find one article saying that the iPhone has a physical crack. Small hairline cracks on its back! Apparently this seems to be happening only to white iPhones… maybe because cracks on black is harder to spot. The photo above shows the crack I have on my sugarcane (name of my iPhone). Poor thing ><.
Anyway, I took my iPhone down to the local Apple Store. And the nice people at the genius bar decided to replace it for me FOC. They took a look at it and “we’ll replace it for you”. There’s no stock at the store, (figures… since they don’t really sell iPhones. In Japan, you have to go to the mobile carrier, Softbank, in order to get the iPhone) so they took my contact details and issued me a receipt. They’ll give me a call when they get my replacement. woo hoo! Seems like I’m going to get a brand new iPhone soon. I think I have to return the current one then. Sorry guys, I can’t hand it down to anyone ^^. Just gotta love the service at the Apple Store.

One way to avoid cracks is to have a quality thick leather pouch. Saved my iphone from a drop or two with a handmade leather pouch from http://www.ikonicedge.com. Its saved me cracking my much loved iphone and its such a stylish quality pouch too.

nope. no extra fees. if you have a crack on yours, they should be able to replace it for you provided you didn’t create that crack by dropping it.
you can try making an appointment with the genius online. if you write the situation in the online form, they should have a phone to swap with you when you go. at least, that was the case with me. your mileage might vary. make sure to sync and backup before you go though!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i have a crack on the upper part of my iphone near the sim cartridge(not intentionally made lol). But its the least of my concern why i wanted my iphone to be replaced. I have my iphone for three weeks now and i noticed theres a gap in the screen on the left part near the volume buttons and its getting bigger! So i wanted to get it fix or replace but i dont want to spend anymore bucks for this sh*t cos im totally broke right now and seeing this thing broken or something frustrates me more!!! LoL well thanks anyway i appreciAte your response. Ill have it check this weekend. Thank you

hi there again! sorry if i post too much. ^^ heres the thing, i couldnt wait for the weekend and so i went to apple store this afternoon. and yeah they replaced it so easily and free of charge. it only took 15 minutes! woah! thanks for the tips god bless!

iPhone 3G is simply the best phone that i have owned. It is very stylish and its nice features. I also own an N97 but i like the iphone.
