Star Wars vs. Soul Caliber?

July 12th, 2008

I found this at the local 7-11 conbini. Is this true? Star Wars vs. Soul Caliber? So, I had to research a little… the best place of course if at wikipedia ^^.

Darth Vader, The Secret Apprentice and Yoda, characters from the Star Wars universe, are confirmed to be playable guest characters. Darth Vader will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Yoda will be on the Xbox 360. The Secret Apprentice, the main protagonist of LucasArts’ upcoming video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will be included as a playable guest character on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

I have neither of those 2 machines. And Yoda being on the X360 has no effect on me thinking about getting it at all… maybe a little… but nah. Does if have to do with Yoda and the X360 being both green? Which next gen console would you go for given the choice? I am looking forward to the game though. It’s supposed to be out everywhere (US, Japan, Europe, UK, Australia) end of this month! Maybe I can try out demos at the game shops. I remember when I was young, we always could try out the games before we bought it. That was in Singapore long time ago. The only time when I get to try a game in Japan is when they have a demo out…

Soul Calibur 4 fails! Because I actually played the series since SC2!

It is aimed for casual players and not the serious players, the way they made it so far and how they packaged their news.

It might turn out good though, Ken. It depends on how you view it. Take it with a light heart and play the damn game first. Then we all make a judgement.

Added you to my blogroll. Took me long enough, since I keep hearing about you lol.

panther, cool! i’ve already added yours actually ^^. i read on wiki that with yoda, you can do “complex aerial combos”. wonder if it’s going to be like SW2&3. you kept hearing about me? from who ^^. i hope you’ve only been hearing good things. haha

Few people, most recent was probably Otaku-dan lol. And as for his “aerial combos”, you can bet that they are just juggles to decent players and that he will likely be banned from actual tournaments. It remains to be seen though, if it does not break gameplay, he will be in.

Aerial “combos” in SC are subject to judgment, since you can air control unlike other games, after your first hit when you get launched into the air.
