Too many shima-s, 島 (island)! Anyway, took this around last year when I went to Hiroshima. You can’t go to Hiroshima and not visit Miyajima. And you can’t go to Miyajima without visiting the Itsukushima shrine ^^. I was lucky that day. There was a wedding and they had a priest there perform the Bugaku Dance for the newly wed. I just stood around for the show. Of course, they didn’t have the funky mambo tune playing in the background ^^.
For the singles out there, what would you do for your wedding?
For the married couples, renewing your vows and having a second wedding is quite the “in” thing these days… at least in Japan… although you should be married for quite a number of years before thinking about this ^^.
